As already mentioned in the header, I'm drafting up a post on my road trip to the Canadian Rockies
It was a long and tiring road trip and we spend most of our time in the bus, but to be able to see the mountains, everything was just so worth it.
Day 1 - 12th April 2014
We left home early on a Saturday morning to meet the tour group at a designated point before setting off.
Due to late nights, we were all very tired. And so, every time we got on the bus, we just slept.
Some of the highlights would be;
- Summerhill Winery
- City of Kelowna
- Okanagan Lake
- Shuswap Lake
- Prestige Inn
It was mostly sightseeing the first day and we stopped quite a number of times for toilet break, pft.
Oh, there's Jason sleeping..
At Summerhill Winery, we get to try Ice wine, both the red and white.
Damn, it was so good!
They produce 100% organic wine, tell me about quality.
*Clink*
Because we came without parents, we tend to get bored easily and our spending power was practically zero. So, no purchasing of ice wine for us :(

Next was our pit stop at Kelowna City, where Okanagan Lake is.
Because everyone was busy using the bathroom and taking pictures of the lake, we decided to go for some ice cream, then do the mainstream.
There is a saying that in the Okanagan Lake lives the Ogopogo Monster but no one ever seem to see it.
After visiting the city, we made our way down to our hotel which is just located beside Shuswap Lake.
Being Team 1, we managed to get our hotel room keys first and rushed to dump our things in the room before heading out to explore (no time to be wasted)

After we're done exploring, we walked around looking for 7-Eleven. Got our food, and went back to the hotel for a good rest.
Why I listed the hotel as a highlight? Because the room is huge and there is a freakin' microwave!!? HAHA
Day 2 - 13 April 2014
We left right after we had our breakfast to continue our journey towards the mountains.
Highlights for day 2;
- Sulphur Mountains
- Hot Springs
- Banff City
- Bow River
As we continue our journey, we stopped quite a few times for toilet break.
This being one of the pit stops has the nicest scenery..
Lunch wasn't fantastic, but still happy!

After lunch, we made our way down to Sulphur Mountain.
!!!!!
We were so excited and we had a hard time deciding if we should take the Gondola up to the summit.
Thank god we decided that we had to, it shouldn't even be a decision to make. (JUST GO)
You don't even have to be on the top, even taking the gondola up itself shows much scenery.

Being at the top makes me feel like king. HAHA!
I was just kidding.
It was so beautiful, stunning, amazing, and any other words to describe beautiful.
Happy four.
There is a trail that was covered in snow which means we couldn't walk the trail.
Instead, we went out a little but because it was too slippery, we made a detour.
I felt that if I were to miss a step or just slip, that would be the end of me.

Right after taking the gondola, we went to the hot springs.
The temperature being 0 degrees, what's the next best thing to do after sightseeing and a long road trip?
Soaking ourselves in the hot spring that overlooks the mountains.
It's a pity that we didn't take any pictures at the hot springs but experiencing it was good enough.
Just before dinner, we stopped by Bow River to take a look.
This was where Marilyn Monroe shot on of her films. (Apparently)
Had our not-so-fantastic dinner and took the extra to explore the town a little before meeting up at our hotel to check in.
And the same thing as the previous night, we rushed to dump our stuff in the room before heading out to explore Banff and the Bow River.
After exploring around the Bow River, we used our remaining time to shop at Banff city.
I really like this city cause it's so pretty and happening.
Back to the hotel after we're done shopping, but to use the Wifi in the hotel, we had to go to the lobby. zzz
Day 3 - 14 April 2014
Highlights of day 3
- Lake Louise
- Fairmont Chateau Hotel
- Last Spike
As usual, we left for Lake Louise after having our breakfast.
They only gave us slightly more than an hour to explore Lake Louise.
It may seem that a lot of time has been given to us but NO!
Because the Lake was frozen and we were allowed to walk on it, being given 1 hour was wayyyy to little.
Making our way through the lake, how many are given this opportunity to walk on a lake?!

Since we didn't have enough time to walk to the end of the lake, we decided to build a tiny snowman without any features :C
I wish we were given more time to explore.
Met the rest of the tour group at the hotel lobby before having our lunch.
The oh-so-famous steak from Alberta, definitely the best meal in the 4 days
Comes with dessert too :P
We thought that if we ate a little faster we could explore more, so we ending up climbing to the roof of the hotel at the second floor.
We had to make our way back to Vancouver after lunch, so that is another one day's drive.
Stop over at the Last Spike, where it was the completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway.
This railway stretches from Pacific Ocean to Atlantic Ocean across Canada.
After what seems like forever, we finally reached our hotel that was the same as the first night's.
#THANKGODFORMICROWAVE HAHA!
Went out to get some food (TIM HORTONS & BURRITOS)

Day 4 - 15 April 2014
It was time to go home. We all woke up so late that our breakfast was waiting for us.
It was a long drive back.
One of the stops was a Ginseng farm, where we all had no interest in it.
Oh! Just as I thought I wouldn't get to see snow, it snowed in the middle of the highway and heavy snow in fact.
This sums up our trip to the Rockies.
These people are those whom we had lunch/dinner with when it comes to chinese meals.
Really thought that it would be much better if we went free and easy cause our itinerary was so rush.
Nonetheless, even though it was rush, I'm sure we all had fun!
